This file contains R (QMD) code developed for use with the Dutch National Food Consumption Survey (DNFCS) 2019–2021. It is designed to calculate dietary intake with a specific focus on protein quantity, protein quality, and food group contributions.

To run this code, the following datasets are required:

NEVO2023_LCA_AA.xlsx
This file is derived from the publicly available NEVO 2023 dataset (see: https://www.rivm.nl/en/dutch-food-composition-database/use-of-nevo-online/request-dataset) and has been supplemented with amino acid data. Because the original NEVO dataset does not include amino acids, these variables were added manually. The following columns were added and are required to run this script:
ILE, LEU, LYS, MET, CYS, PHE, TYR, THR, TRY, VAL, HIS, ARG, ALAN, ASP, GLU, GLY, PRO, SER (all in mg/100 g product).

VCP-Basisgegevensverzameling 2019–2021 (1–79 jaar)
To use this code, the dataset consumption_food.csv is required. This file is part of the publicly available dataset of the Dutch National Food Consumption Survey (DNFCS) 2019–2021. The dataset can be requested via the RIVM website: https://www.wateetnederland.nl/aanvraagfomulier-gebruik-dataset-vcp.
Select VCP-Basisgegevensverzameling 2019–2021 (1–79 jaar) (CSV).
