Analysis scripts and snowmelt data for "Scope for waterfowl to speed up migration to a warming Arctic"

<p dir="ltr">Scripts for the analysis of "Scope for waterfowl to speed up migration to a warming Arctic", and snowmelt data. The GPS tracking and body mass data used in the analysis are not openly available, but extracted from Movebank (www.movebank.org) and www.geese.org with permission from the concerned data owners (see Supplementary Table 3). Script 02_prepare_tracking_data downloads the tracking data from Movebank, given that the person who runs the code has collaborator rights to the studies. With the data downloaded, the scripts can be ran to reproduce the results from the study.</p><p dir="ltr">Also included are the shapefiles that were used to designate breeding areas, the snowmelt dates for each breeding area (see Methods section Modelling variability in fuelling time) and some custom functions used in the script (e.g. for downsampling tracks).</p><p dir="ltr">"Linssen_2025_NCC_metadata.json" contains metadata information on the data and code included in the repository.</p>
